Thievery Corporation was formed in the summer of 1995 at Washington D.C.'s Eighteenth Street Lounge. Rob Garza and Lounge co-owner Eric Hilton were drawn together over their mutual love of club life, as well as dub, bossa nova and jazz records.

Eric’s unique take on hip-hop and reggae beats utterly fascinates me. Calming and energizing in equal measure. This review could be for any or all of his solo works, but what’s not to love about that?! I keep going back and forth between the Put ‘Em Down / Something for Byrd combination or Mind Archaeology as favorite parts to this album.

This album has been on repeat and shuffle since I got it. I cut stones to it. I turn it up driving the country roads. I play it just chillin in the smoke lounge. Even among my metal and blues heavy library, Eric Hilton has a spot all his own! Another great album!
